The University of Texas at Austin has met the requirements of the law (Texas Education Code, Section 54.017) by establishing Longhorn Fixed Tuition, which will be offered to eligible undergraduate students beginning Fall 2014.

Summer 2016 Tuition Rates

Reduced Rates for Summer

During the summer session, coursework is less expensive than during the long sessions.

For all students, the rule is that coursework taken during the summer will cost 85 percent of what the same coursework would have cost during the long sessions.

For example, for a student in Liberal Arts paying resident tuition, this table compares the cost for three and six hours:

Long Sessions 2015-16* Summer 2016* Savings
Three Hours
$2,059
$1,750
$309
Six Hours
$3,039
$2,583
$456
